Franklin Instrument Company, Inc. recognized for Quality and Performance
Richmond, Va. - Franklin Instrument Company , Inc. of Ivyland, PA was recently honored with a fourth Gold Medal Award by the Defense Supply Center Richmond as one of the government's best suppliers at an Automated Best Value Systems award ceremony held during the center's annual business conference on June 8, 2004.
Franklin President Larry Fischer accepted the Gold Medal from Michael J. Lyden, Rear Admiral ,SC, USN, Commander, Defense Supply Center Richmond and Mary L. Saunders, Major General, USAF, Vice Director, Defense Logistics Agency.
Franklin Instrument Company supplies Specification Compliant timing and navigation instruments to the Department of Defense, prime contractors and other government agencies.
"This recognition means that the dedicated employees of Franklin Instrument provide products that our men and women in uniform can use in confidence," said company president Larry Fischer.
Firms that qualify as a Automated Best Value System Gold Medallist have achieved a perfect score of 100 based upon their past twelve month quality and contract deliveries. Any one quality defect or late delivery excludes a firm from the Gold Award.
The supply center, located in Richmond, Va., purchases nearly 900,000 items used by the military and other government agencies. These items support over 1,300 major weapons systems.
